Singler, who became a national champion at Duke before spending several seasons in the NBA, was arrested in Oklahoma in October 2025 following a domestic dispute. The Arrest
Singler was arrested in Haskell County, Oklahoma, following an alleged altercation involving his girlfriend.
According to the arrest affidavit cited by ESPN, the woman told a sheriff’s deputy that Singler grabbed her by the head and pushed her to the ground. A young child was reportedly present during the incident.
The responding officer documented marks on the woman’s face and arms, including what appeared to be finger impressions and bruising.
Singler was subsequently booked on a domestic-abuse/simple-assault charge.

The case attracted particular attention because of Singler’s stature in college basketball. At 6-foot-8, he had been one of the most recognizable players in Duke’s program before embarking on a professional career.
A Duke Star
Singler arrived at Duke as one of the country’s highly regarded recruits and quickly became an important part of Mike Krzyzewski’s program.
During his college career, he helped the Blue Devils win the 2010 NCAA championship. Singler was also named the Final Four’s Most Outstanding Player after Duke defeated Butler in the championship game.
His combination of outside shooting, toughness and versatility made him a key player for one of college basketball’s most successful programs.
He finished his Duke career as a four-year starter and entered the NBA with an impressive résumé.

The Detroit Pistons selected Singler in the second round of the 2011 NBA Draft. He began his professional career overseas before joining Detroit for the 2012-13 season.
